Microphone Manufacture

Established in 1998, BSWA Technology Co., Ltd. has become a preferred microphone supplier in China and throughout the world. Using the simple strategy of producing high quality microphones at a low cost, it’s no wonder that many OEMs and system integrators have selected BSWA microphones for their applications.

Microphone development began as far back as 1963 by Dr. Maa Dah You, professor of the Institute of Acoustics (IOA), who founded the Microphone Research Project. The project’s goal was to investigate new electret materials suitable for producing measurement quality microphones. Later in 1982, under the leadership of Professor Tao Zhongda, the research group developed the first 1/2” prepolarized microphone. The achievement was later presented at the 1st National Acoustics Conference in China in 1984 with two patents following.

Full manufacturing of microphones by IOA started in 1986 with yearly production volumes reaching several thousand by 1998. In 2000, BSWA acquired the IOA microphone division and has continued its research in microphone technology producing high quality microphones at a low cost.
